About the Workshop:

We know it when we see it. The actor who is simply there, fully present - able to listen, feel, respond, take action but without apparent effort or need. Their connection with other actors and the audience is easy and their playing unforced. We are drawn to watch that actor. Interested in what they will do or say next. There is no division between thought and action. They are completely with their body.

In this workshop we will slow down and use the dynamic yet delicately nuanced ‘Awareness Through Movement’ lessons from the Feldenkrais Method to listen inwards and discover how we can involve our whole selves in an action. We will become aware of those moments where we find balance, fluidity, ease and integration, without working against ourselves, or losing something in the moment.

And we will surround it with simple acting games and improvisations to notice the difference it makes to your presence, and to your connection with the audience and each other.

Please do bring a blanket or a mat. (We will have a small quantity of mats available if you don't have one.)

After the workshop please join us for Snacks ‘n’ Chats ! We're holding tea for all workshop attendees - a chance to get to know your fellow creatives, skill swap and, most importantly, eat biscuits.

Pay What You Can or Pay It Forward

Offering affordable training is at the heart of SCRUM's charitable objectives. Though classes with our practitioners cost a significant amount for practitioners and staffing costs, we offer places at a pay-what-you-can rate. For some, this might mean paying 1p. For others, paying more means you’re covering our facilitators fee and staffing costs, making it possible for us to host future PWYC workshops seasons. We give a suggested figure of £15 for those who can. Or a £30 pay it forward donation.

Attendees must be 18+
